Hans Grönlund is Associate Professor of Immunology, Head of the Therapeutic Immune Design Unit (TID), Department of Clinical Neuroscience, Karolinska Institutet in Stockholm, Sweden. He has been active in the field of Allergy since he joined Pharmacia diagnostics (now Phadia/ThermoFisher) in 1988 as R&D Director of the Reagents Department, responsible for antibodies, natural proteins and recombinant allergens for immunoassay development. He is regularly invited as speaker and faculty member to more than 20 conferences and congresses including EAACI, WIRM, World Allergy Congress, LURN, Fokusbarnastma and CIA. Hans Grönlund was awarded several renowned awards, including Stockholm Society of Allergology, “Årets Rookie”. He published 75 articles, with 2,187 citations and authored 7 patents. His research focuses on translational immunology, biomarkers, diagnostics and clinical trials within the area of allergy, asthma and neurodegenerative diseases. His research goal is to understand immunological mechanisms and their impact on the formation of allergic diseases. Hans Grönlund conducts translational research focused on design and production of biomolecules with the aim to diagnose, predict and treat diseases.
